Email Sticky Notes (including the Google Workspace Add-on for Gmail, the Chrome/Edge Browser Extension for Gmail, and the Microsoft Outlook Add-in) is built with a strict privacy-first architecture. Your email content and sticky notes never leave your own Google Account, Microsoft 365 mailbox, or local browser storage.

PropertiesService.getUserProperties().
chrome.storage.local and localStorage.
Email Sticky Notes does not operate any external database, analytics tracker, or third-party server. We do not collect, transmit, sell, rent, or share your emails, message metadata, sticky notes, or personal information with any third party.
Specifically, the Google Workspace Add-on requests only the minimum required scopes:
gmail.addons.current.message.metadata: Used solely to read the active
message's ID, subject line, and sender name/address while the message is open so sticky
notes can be linked to that specific email. The add-on never reads or accesses the body
of your emails.
script.storage: Used solely to save your sticky notes privately inside your
own Google Account's UserProperties store.
gmail.addons.execute: Used to render the Sticky Notes user interface cards
inside the Gmail companion sidebar.
📝 Sticky Note category tag in your inbox.
storage,
sidePanel, and *://mail.google.com/* host permission solely to
render the sticky notes sidebar and top-of-email summary banner inside Gmail and save your
notes locally in Chrome.
Because all sticky notes are stored inside your own account or local browser storage, you retain full ownership and control at all times. You can export your notes to JSON/Markdown or permanently delete individual or all sticky notes at any time directly from the Settings menu.
